World Dairy Expo Highlights Dairy Technology

The World Dairy Expo, an annual event held in Madison, broke attendance records with attendees from over 90 different countries and a record 2,977 cows exhibited. The Expo is a forum for dairy producers, companies and organizations to come together to compete and learn more about technology and commerce.

The number of commercial booths at the tradeshow was also at an all-time high of 863, about 150 more than last year’s event. Gov. Scott Walker was also on hand at the event, now in its 46th year, and noted that the dairy industry accounts for about $26 billion of Wisconsin’s economy.

Plans are already underway for next year’s event, which is scheduled for October 1-5, 2013. The theme will be ‘Center of the Dairy Universe.’
