Super Bowl week is finally here! It’s hard to believe that it’s been 50 years since the start of this great American tradition. We also know people like to enjoy the game with good friends and great beers, which makes it an important time to talk about responsible drinking.
Budweiser will be using advertising’s biggest stage to broadcast a bold drunk-driving prevention message through our “Simply Put” commercial featuring actor Helen Mirren. “Simply Put” is not your typical PSA – it’s a wake-up call meant to start as many conversations as possible and get people to make plans to get home safely following the game. The campaign is already creating a buzz with notable news coverage from Huffington Post and the Washington Post. Click here to watch the ad.
To make sure fans have access to safe rides home, we created StandwithBud.com, which provides the most convenient transportation options to beer drinkers based on their location. StandWithBud.com also invites people to take a pledge to #GiveADamn and not drive drunk on Super Bowl Sunday, then share their commitment on social media using Mirren’s brazen tone.
Each time #GiveADamn is tweeted from now through 11:59 p.m. ET on Sunday, Budweiser will donate an additional dollar to our safe ride home programs in 2016!
For the past 30 years, Anheuser-Busch and its wholesaler partners have been working to promote alcohol responsibility. Through partnerships with major league sports, music festivals, and other marquee events, we are influencing social norms and changing drinking behaviors.
