We've issued Order 12, which goes into effect 1/13 & will be in effect for 28 days.
The order mirrors much of Order 11 & allows indoor gatherings up to 10 ppl, w/distancing & masks. Outdoor gatherings up to 50 ppl are allowed, w/distancing.
Schools are allowed to continue with in-person learning for all grade levels under the order. Colleges, universities and higher education centers can also remain open as long as each place determines a policy for safe operations.
Dane County restaurants can offer indoor seating at a 25% capacity. Restrictions remain in place for bars and taverns.
Stores are also required to keep capacity limits at 50%. Some stores, if large enough, will also be required to have special hours for vulnerable individuals. Sampling of goods is not allowed.
Gyms can continue indoor classes as long as physical distancing can be maintained at all times. Indoor exercise classes are limited to 10 people.
Salons and spaces must limit the number of clients to 50% of approved capacity levels. The same goes for places like bowling alleys and museums. Businesses are also required to keep six feet between work spaces.
The new order still requires people to wear face coverings in public spaces.
Violation of the emergency order could result in a $1,000 fine, according to the City of Madison.
The public health orders will continue to be issued in 28 day increments, which is two incubation periods of COVID-19 illness, and are developed in response to the latest local data.
