The former EOG Resources sand processing plant, which was located in the northeast corner of Chippewa Falls, has settled a lawsuit against the city over what they claimed was an excessive tax bill. The sand plant has since closed.

CHIPPEWA FALLS — EOG Resources, a former sand processing plant in the northeast corner of Chippewa Falls, has settled a lawsuit it filed in September 2021 against the city over what they argued was an excessive tax bill.

The lawsuit was settled in advance of a hearing that had been slated for Monday in Chippewa County Court. The Leader-Telegram filed an open records request Tuesday to obtain a copy of the settlement agreement, which was not filed with the court.
