Wisconsin Academy of Physician Assistants Hosts PA Day at the Capitol

The Wisconsin Academy of Physician Assistants (WAPA) held its annual PA Day at the Capitol on October 21, bringing physician assistants from across the state to Madison to meet with lawmakers and discuss key legislative priorities.

WAPA advocates for Wisconsin’s physician assistants by promoting public understanding of the profession, providing continuing medical education, and supporting policies that strengthen the PA workforce.

During this year’s event, members met with their local legislators to share their experiences and encourage support for SB 435/AB 438, legislation aimed at modernizing PA practice in Wisconsin. The proposal seeks to update state law to reflect the evolving role of PAs in healthcare delivery and improve access to care across the state.
