WEDA Legislative Day 2015

The Wisconsin Economic Development Association (WEDA) held its annual legislative day this week, with nearly 70 WEDA members participating.

WEDA members met with approximately 90 legislators and staff from the Senate and Assembly. This face time with legislators gave WEDA members the opportunity to discuss the WEDA legislative agenda and connect the impact these legislative changes can have on economic development projects in the legislator’s district.

After the member’s meetings with legislators, Eric Schutt, Governor Walker’s Chief of Staff, spoke to the group on key economic development proposals included in the governor’s 2015-2017 budget. The group was able to ask questions and hear additional details of the governor’s initiatives.

The WEDA legislative day was a huge success and provided the opportunity for key connections to be made between WEDA members and their legislators.
