Walmart Visits State Capitol

Nearly 100 members of management teams and suppliers at Walmart visited the Wisconsin State Capitol this week to speak about growth in jobs in the US.

Members meet with for breakfast and seminars with Walmart suppliers to discuss the current business climate and priorities for job creation.

Members spoke to Wisconsin state legislators about supporting American manufacturing, including Walmart’s initiative to purchase $50 billion more in US products over the next 10 years through:

  • Increasing what Walmart already buys in the US – like sporting goods, apparel, storage products, games and paper products;
  • Sourcing “new to Walmart” U.S. manufactured goods; and
  • Helping to onshore U.S. production in high potential areas like textiles, furniture, and higher-end appliances.
