Walmart Joins Gov. Scott Walker to Support Red Cross Flood Relief Efforts

Gov. Scott Walker was in Milwaukee this week to support American Red Cross’s flood relief effort for Wisconsin families affected by storms last month. Walker has declared a state of emergency in 20 counties due to July’s floods and rain damage throughout the state. In response to the floods, Red Cross has aided more than 2,300 flood victims through the efforts of 300 disaster relief workers who have distributed nearly 10,000 relief items, served over 4,000 meals, and opened ten shelters across the state.

Lisa Nelson from Walmart joined Walker and several other business leaders to highlight Red Cross’s efforts. Walmart donated $50,000 to Red Cross for disaster relief in Wisconsin. Altogether, the businesses’ donations will cover almost half of the state’s flooding expenses.
