Walmart held its annual Capitol Day this week with over 40 store managers, regional managers, market managers and assistants.
The all-day event began with a welcome from Representative Robb Kahl (D-Monona). Following the representative’s welcome, attendees were give a briefing on pertinent legislation, an update on recent activity in the Capitol and information on what to expect when visiting with legislators later in the day.
Also, as a part of Walmart Capitol Day, Walmart hosted a “Salute to Veterans Luncheon” and invited legislators to attend the lunch and hear from Senator Roger Roth (R-Appleton) and Kirsten Sobieski of the Milwaukee Homeless Veterans Initiative. Following these presentations, Walmart donated to the Milwaukee Homeless Veterans Initiative to supply the organization with more supplies and awarded all veterans attending with a military coin. Attendees also heard from Attorney General Brad Schimmel and Assembly Speaker Robin Vos (R-Rochester).
Following the speakers and luncheon, attendees met with over 40 senators and representatives.
