As of June 2, Wisconsin had administered almost 5.18 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines, with more than 2.45 million Wisconsin residents or 42.1 percent of the state’s population fully vaccinated. About 83.3 percent of Wisconsinites aged 65 and older have received at least one dose.

All U.S. adults are eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine in every state. As part of the federal vaccination program, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) requires all vaccinators to provide vaccines at no cost, and vaccinators cannot turn away anyone, even if they do not have insurance or cannot provide an ID.

As of June 2, Wisconsin’s seven-day average of new confirmed cases was 162 cases per day. That number peaked in November 2020 at around 6,500 cases per day. About 7,110 people with COVID-19 have died in Wisconsin. Since the beginning of 2021, the seven-day average of positive tests out of total tests has declined, from 10.2 percent on January 1 to 1.7 percent on June 1.
