State of the State: What to Watch For

This evening at 7PM Governor Scott Walker will deliver his highly anticipated State of the State Address. Early released excerpts of the speech indicate that the theme for the evening is: “We are turning things around. We are heading in the right direction.”

What to watch for this evening:

  • A recap of the efforts made over the past year to balance the state budget, which included the controversial changes to collective bargaining.
  • Introduction of new members to the Small Business Regulatory Review Board and the creation of the Waste, Fraud and Abuse Elimination Taskforce.
  • More details on the Governor’s recently announced Wisconsin Working and education reform initiatives.
