Speaker Vos Announces 2025 Task Force Membership | | |
Assembly Speaker Robin Vos (R-Rochester) has announced the chairs, vice chairs, and members of the four 2025 Speaker’s Task Forces. Each task force has a Republican chair and a Democratic vice chair and will begin work this fall by consulting experts and stakeholders before recommending legislation in the spring.

Appeals Court Judge Maria Lazar has announced her candidacy for the Wisconsin Supreme Court seat being vacated by Justice Rebecca Bradley in 2026. Lazar, a former Waukesha County judge and assistant attorney general, emphasized her record as an independent and impartial jurist while criticizing the influence of partisan politics on the courts

| | DHS Projects Medicaid Shortfall | |
The Department of Health Services projects Wisconsin’s Medicaid program will exceed its 2025–27 budget by $144.1 million in GPR, about 1.5% over the nearly $9.7 billion allocated. DHS Secretary Kirsten Johnson told lawmakers that $100 million of the gap stems from the budget providing less than what the agency estimated was needed to maintain services.
