Governor Signs Bipartisan Bills Supporting Wisconsin’s EMS Workforce | | |
Governor Tony Evers has signed two bipartisan bills aimed at strengthening Wisconsin’s emergency medical services (EMS) system. Authored by Sen. Howard Marklein (R–Spring Green) and Rep. Tony Kurtz (R–Wonewoc), Acts 35 and 36 are designed to help local EMS departments address ongoing challenges with recruitment, retention, and training.

| | State Reports $4.6 Billion General Fund Balance for Fiscal Year 2025 | | |
The Wisconsin Department of Administration reported a $4.6 billion undesignated balance in the state’s General Fund for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025. General purpose revenue collections rose 4.8 percent to $22.36 billion, while expenditures totaled $21.12 billion which is slightly above budgeted levels.

Eric Toney, the longtime Fond du Lac County District Attorney, has announced he will run for Wisconsin Attorney General in 2026. The Republican previously challenged Democratic Attorney General Josh Kaul in 2022, losing by about 35,000 votes.
