Lt. Gov. Mandela Barnes is up with a refreshed campaign website and a provocative "Stay Tuned For Coming Updates" message.

Of course, the big update is likely to be his entry next week into the Democratic race for U.S. Senate.

According to a signup page, Barnes "will be making a big announcement in Milwaukee" on Tuesday during an event planned at Sherman Phoenix.

The clock is ticking for Barnes to join the crowded field. According to a since-deleted tweet, Barnes began fundraising July 8. Under federal campaign rules, potential candidates have a 15-day period in which they can raise money to test the waters before they have to file paperwork to officially enter the race.

Barnes would be the eighth Democrat to formally enter the race. Republican U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson hasn't yet announced if he'll run for a third term next year.
