Rep. Macco Announces Ways and Means Committee Restructure

Assembly Ways and Means Committee Chair John Macco (R-Ledgeview) announced last week a restructuring of the committee in anticipation of potential federal tax reform and long-term changes at the state level. Macco announced four new subcommittees that will review Wisconsin’s tax code:

  • Personal and Corporate Taxes – Chaired by Rep. Bob Kulp (R-Stratford)
  • Local Taxation and State Support – Chaired by Rep. David Steffen (R-Green Bay)
  • Sales and Use Tax – Chaired by Rep. Kevin Petersen (R-Waupaca)
  • Excise Taxes and Fees – Chaired by Rep. Shannon Zimmerman (R-River Falls)

Each committee will have two Republicans and one Democrat.

The committee also added three Republicans, Reps. Kulp, Zimmerman, and Rob Hutton (R-Brookfield), and one Democrat, Rep. Mark Spreitzer (D-Beloit), for a total of 16 members.
