Legislative Days at State Capitol

Legislative Days at the Wisconsin State Capitol open the doors for individuals, businesses, and organizations to speak directly with their elected officials. Over the past few weeks, representatives from a wide range of industries gathered in Madison to share their priorities, discuss key issues, and help shape the policies that affect their communities and professions.

Clients that hosted Legislative days the past few weeks were Associated Builders and Contractors of Wisconsin (ABC), Xcel Energy, the Wisconsin Park and Recreation Association (WPRA), the Wisconsin Sheriffs and Deputy Sheriffs Association (WSDSA), the Badger State Sheriffs Association (BSSA), Destinations Wisconsin, Walmart, and 3M. Each group had the chance to engage in meaningful conversations with state senators, legislators, and other elected officials.

Participants were also briefed on the latest political developments and received updates on the legislative landscape impacting their industries. These face-to-face meetings served not only to educate lawmakers, but also to strengthen the connection between Wisconsin’s decision-makers and the people they represent.

Legislative Days continue to be a powerful reminder that advocacy starts with showing up—and that every voice has the potential to make an impact under the Capitol dome.

Last week, Speaker Vos met with members of the Associated Builders and Contractors of Wisconsin during their “Building Influence” lobby day at the Wisconsin State Capitol.  The Speaker heard suggestions about how to get more people into well-paying jobs building Wisconsin and provided information about what Wisconsin legislators have done in previous years to bridge the construction skills gap.

Wisconsin Park and Recreation Association met with their local representatives to advocate for reauthorizing the Knowles-Nelson Stewardship Program (KNSP). With uncertainty surrounding its future and concerns raised by legislators it’s more important than ever to share how KNSP has benefited local communities.
