Joel Brennan Launches Bid for Governor

Joel Brennan has entered the 2026 race for Wisconsin governor, joining a growing field of candidates seeking to succeed Gov. Tony Evers, who is not running for a third term.

Brennan currently serves as president of the Greater Milwaukee Committee and previously led the Wisconsin Department of Administration during the Evers administration. His background includes roles in state government, economic development, and nonprofit leadership.

In announcing his candidacy, Brennan pointed to his experience managing public institutions and working across sectors, saying he hopes to focus on economic opportunity, education, and effective governance. He will compete in a crowded Democratic primary ahead of the 2026 election.
