  Partisan control: During the 2021-22 legislative session, Republicans controlled the Wisconsin Senate with 21 members (four did not seek reelection), while Democrats had 12 members (three did not seek reelection).
  
  Uncontested races: In five Senate races, only the Republican Party had a candidate on the general election ballot. This included the open seat in Senate District 23. Some of these races had contested primaries.
  
  Incumbents facing primaries: Two Republican legislators, Majority Leader Devin LeMahieu and Sen. Van Wanggaard, faced primary challenges from members of their own party.

  Partisan control: During the 2021-22 legislative session, Republicans controlled the Wisconsin Assembly with 61 members (14 did not seek reelection), while Democrats had 38 members (10 did not seek reelection).
  
  Uncontested races: In 26 Assembly races, only one major party had a candidate on the general election ballot, including 16 seats held by Republicans and 10 held by Democrats. Some of these seats had contested primaries. Three of the uncontested Assembly races were in open seats, two previously held by Democrats and one by Republicans.
  
  Incumbents facing primaries: Seven members of the Assembly, all Republicans, were challenged by members of their own party, including Speaker Robin Vos.
