Health Care Reform Resources for Wisconsinites

The federal marketplace for health insurance opened on October 1, but polls indicate that many people still have questions about what impact the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) will have on their health care. Wisconsin’s Office of the Commissioner of Insurance (OCI) and the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) are working together to provide further information about PPACA to consumers, employers, agents and insurers.

OCI has put together a website with a wealth of information on the PPACA with extensive FAQ sheets.

DHS has information on its website about various forms of coverage and the relationship between insurance and government benefits.

In addition, OCI and DHS held informational sessions across the state in the form of town hall meetings. These 90-minute meetings were open to anyone who has an interest in learning more about PPACA. Video of one of the events is available from WisconsinEye.
