This issue of Political Tidbits discusses the “Back to Work Wisconsin” special session bills, mining legislation, as well as potential recall efforts.
The Senate and Assembly wrapped up business last week after passing a number of bills. Thursday was the last scheduled day for both houses to meet on the floor for the rest of 2011. However, there is discussion of the Legislature convening later in the year to wrap up a few unfinished items, such as mining legislation and some other Special Session bills focusing on job creation.
Most of Gov. Scott Walker’s Special Session jobs bill passed, including a number of tort reforms.
Additionally, the legislature gears up for a potential recall election.
