On March 11, Gov. Tony Evers appointed Tyler Huebner to the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin (PSCW). Huebner, formerly executive director of RENEW Wisconsin, replaces Mike Huebscsh, who retired from the PSCW in February. Huebner will fill out the remainder of Huebsch’s term, ending March 1, 2021. Huebner’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation.
Huebner has been the executive director of the nonprofit renewable energy advocacy organization RENEW Wisconsin since 2013. Huebner was previously a policy analyst for the Wisconsin Division of Energy Services at the state Department of Administration and an energy technology program specialist at the federal Department of Energy’s Division of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy. Huebner has a Master’s degree in atmosphere and energy from Stanford University and a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Iowa.
With Huebner’s appointment, Gov. Evers appointees now have a 2-1 majority on the commission. Evers-appointed PSCW Chairperson Rebecca Cameron Valcq was unanimously confirmed by the Senate in November. (Status of all Gov. Evers appointees.) Also serving at the PSCW is Commissioner Ellen Nowak, who was appointed by Gov. Walker.
