Each interim summer, the Wisconsin Legislative Council staff provides legal and policy support to several study committees established by the Joint Legislative Council, a joint committee of the two houses whose primary responsibility is the creation and oversight of these study committees. Typically, the work completed by the study committees results in legislation recommended for consideration by the legislature in the following session.
