The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) issued a scope statement on control technology guidelines updates for emissions from metal and plastic parts coatings & industrial adhesives, which was approved by Gov. Tony Evers on Jan. 30, 2019.
DNR will hold a preliminary public hearing and prepare an economic impact analysis.
This proposed rule would update Wisconsin DNR rules to incorporate new federal control techniques guidelines for emissions from miscellaneous metal and plastic parts coatings and miscellaneous industrial adhesives.
The Clean Air Act requires implementation of reasonably available control technology in ozone nonattainment areas (where the air quality does not meet the applicable ozone standard). The proposed rule would make reasonably available control technology requirements for Wisconsin nonattainment areas consistent with federal requirements.
