Badger State Sheriffs’ Association Legislative Day

On Wednesday, Feb. 21, the Badger State Sheriffs’ Association held their legislative day. Sheriffs from across Wisconsin met with their legislators to discuss a variety of issues impacting law enforcement.

The priority issues Sheriffs advocated for included AB 676, which will provide protective status to county jailers. The bipartisan legislation passed the Assembly unanimously and is now bogged down in the Senate. BSSA members also pushed for the Senate to pass AB 351, providing guidance for law enforcement on how to handle body camera data. AB 351 is available for a Senate vote.
