Badger State Sheriffs’ Association Honors Senator Van Wanggaard with Lifetime Achievement Award

The Badger State Sheriffs’ Association presented Senator Van Wanggaard with the BSSA Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his longstanding support of law enforcement and public safety in Wisconsin.

 

Over the course of his legislative career, Senator Wanggaard has authored and advanced numerous initiatives impacting law enforcement, crime victims, and public safety operations across the state. As Chair of the Senate Committee on Judiciary and Public Safety for more than a decade, he has worked closely with Sheriffs on legislation related to OWI enforcement, Internet Crimes Against Children investigations, human trafficking, victims’ rights, officer safety, and public safety communications infrastructure.

 

“Senator Wanggaard has been a strong and trusted partner to Wisconsin Sheriffs for many years,” said BSSA President Sheriff Todd Delain, “His leadership and dedication to public safety have had a lasting impact on law enforcement agencies and the communities they serve throughout Wisconsin.”

 

The BSSA Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated exceptional dedication and service to public safety and the law enforcement profession in Wisconsin.
