The Department of Workforce Development (DWD) will hold a free informational grant application training session on Wednesday, September 13. The goal of the training session, “Submitting a Successful Wisconsin Fast Forward Grant,” is to increase applicants’ understanding of the Wisconsin Fast Forward (WFF) grant application process, goals of the WFF grant program, process for funding and information on what makes a successful WFF grant application. Registration information is below.
The WFF grant program began under Gov. Scott Walker in 2013. The program administers grant funds for various occupations throughout the state to support employer-led worker training projects. The program is operated through the Office of Skills Development (OSD) within DWD.
OSD announced enhancements to the Fast Forward grant program in June. In a May executive session on the budget, the Joint Finance Committee also approved an expansion of the Fast Forward program to five new categories, including high school pupil certifications, technical teacher training programs, employee research networks, internship programs and nurse training programs, that would take effect pending on the full legislature’s vote.
