Wisconsin Rural Water Association, Others Hold Municipal Government & Utility Day

The Wisconsin Rural Water Association (WRWA), joined by other municipal government and utility organizations, held the annual Municipal Government & Utility Day at the Wisconsin State Capitol on Wednesday. Local officials and utilities met with their legislators about issues impacting local governments and municipal utilities.

Kicking off the day, Rep. Mike Kuglitsch, chair of the Assembly Committee on Energy and Utilities, addressed the group. Attendees then attended breakout sessions to discuss their legislative issues. Afterwards, attendees headed to the capitol to meet with legislators from their districts on issues including transportation, water, lead pipes and broadband. After their meetings, attendees heard from Larry Gigerich, managing director of Ginovus economic development services on the importance of infrastructure investment.

WRWA was joined at Municipal Day by the League of Wisconsin Municipalities, Municipal Electric Utilities of Wisconsin, Municipal Environmental Group – water and environmental divisions and American Water Works Association – Wisconsin Section.
