Andrew
J. Engel began his government relations career over ten years ago
with Wisconsin Senator Kim Plache. He recently joined The Hamilton
Consulting Group, Madison WI, after serving as Senior Government Relations Advisor for Axley Brynelson, where he was responsible for providing insight and strategy for client initiatives.
As Chief of Staff for Senate Majority Leader Judy Robson
(2005-07), Andy was responsible for negotiating and coordinating senate
positions on legislative proposals as well as state budgets. Andy has
extensive campaign and communications experience from his tenure as
Political Director of the Democratic Party as well as Deputy Director for
Wisconsin Victory 2004. In these capacities, Andy developed working
relationships with statewide political leaders, elected officials, and their
staffs.
He has also served in several capacities with the Senate
Democratic Caucus, including the position of Executive Director (2002-03),
where he directed the statewide caucus plan for the 2002 cycle, and as
Legislative analyst for the Senate Office of Budget and Policy. In addition,
Andy was the co-founder of Forward Strategies, a Madison-based polling and
research firm
Andy received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political
Science and Legal Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. He is
a licensed Wisconsin lobbyist.
